Progress Reports
Please find enclosed your child’s latest progress report if they are in the Secondary Phase. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s coach.

Year 11 Assessments
Year 11 continue to undertake a range of formal and informal assessments. This will continue into the second summer half term, as we work with pupils to gather a sound evidence base for their centre assessed grades awarded for their KS4 subjects. Further details will follow regarding our Year 11 Yearbook and Hoodies. Please ensure that pupils have completed their order and payment for these items to avoid disappointment.

Covid-19
Thank you for your ongoing support when responding to Government guidance and advice regarding Lateral Flow Testing and self-isolation of close contacts. Our remote learning platforms and plans ensure that pupils are able to continue accessing their learning and any pupil unable to undertake an assessment in school because of Covid-19 will not be adversely affected.

Please ensure that you continue to support your child to undertake their twice-weekly LFT and register the result on the Government website. For more information, please see our school website.

Year 6+ Programme
We are excited that Year 6 have successfully started their Y6+ programme after Easter which continues to prepare our children for a seamless transition to KS3. The programme gives the children an experience that bridges them from KS2 to KS3 in the curriculum and gives them the independence and organisational skills, so they will continue to thrive and look forward to Year 7 with confidence. This is a unique programme tailored to our children and we look forward to seeing the impact and progress of this project.

Year 6 Primary Assessments
Please note that the external SATS have been cancelled by the Government this year in response to the pandemic. Our Year 6 pupils will undertake a series of internal assessments w/c 17th May to support their transition to KS3.

Independent Learning (Years 7, 8 and 9)
In order to build on the good habits and new skills that our pupils developed throughout the lockdown period, we have asked all Secondary Phase children to engage in Independent Learning activities outside of the school day. Children in Years 10 and 11 have already been using an online system called Microsoft Teams in this way since September 2020. After Easter we extended this to Years 7, 8 and 9 who now receive Independent Learning activities each week. All subjects are included on a rotation which results in approximately 5 activities per week. Pupils are being told by their teacher when a piece of work has been uploaded to Microsoft Teams and a paper copy will be available (from the teacher) for those who prefer it. Please encourage your child to check their school Microsoft Teams account each school day and thank you in advance for supporting this initiative.

New Academic Year
From Tuesday 29th June, Secondary Phase pupils will commence new timetables and pupils will ‘move up’ to their new year group. Pupils will be issued with new timetables closer to the time.

New School Website
I am delighted to confirm that our school website has recently been updated. Please take a look when you can to familiarise yourself with the key information about the school.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely
