On Friday 22nd October, a group of players and coaches from the Jamaican national rugby league team visited CMCS, alongside Jason Robinson.
During their visit they took part in some rugby sessions on the astro turf, watching on as pupils tackled various rugby drills and showed off their skills! Jason Robinson and the Jamaican players were happy to answer questions from pupils, who were all excited to hear what they had to say.
There was also a group discussion in the Hub, where some pupils had the opportunity to ask questions relating to social issues, resilience, determination and more.
This discussion included Ashton Golding (ex-Leeds Rhinos and current Huddersfield Giants player), Jamaica captain Joe Brown (Bradford Bulls) and head coach Jermaine Coleman. It was great to see how confident pupils were when asking their questions, and everyone listened intently to the conversations.
Our ‘Robinson’ House is named after Jason himself, so it was lovely to welcome him back into school and have him sign some more of our Robinson displays!
BBC Look North were also here to record the event. You can watch the clip below.
