14th May 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you will be aware, the Government guidance has changed from Monday 17th May with regard to face coverings for pupils within an educational setting. The guidance now states face coverings will no longer be recommended for pupils in classrooms.

However, since rates in Leeds are currently slightly higher than the England average, Public Health in Leeds have advised today that pupils should still wear masks in communal areas where social distancing cannot be maintained.

Face coverings should also still be worn on public and school transport.

Pupils have continued to respond sensibly and with maturity to the various measures taken to support our prevention of the spread of Covid, and we thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely
