Dear Parent/Carer,

We are holding our Year 10 parent/carer evening on Wednesday 29th January 2025. Your child’s subject teachers will be available to meet you in school from 3.30pm to 7.00pm.

We know teacher appointments have a tremendous impact on progress so please discuss with your child which subjects to prioritise for face-to-face meetings at this event.

On the back of the letter your child received (and linked above) there is a list of the Year 10 teaching staff which can be used to record the times of meetings. Please ask your child to arrange appointments with sufficient time in between to allow you to move from teacher to teacher. Teachers will do their best to stick to this schedule, however, please be prepared to be flexible with timings.

We will also have talks taking place at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 6:30pm about the upcoming Work Experience. This is a key milestone for pupils and families; we strongly encourage you to attend and receive key information about the process and wide range of learning that comes from it.

Throughout this academic year we have been impressed by the engagement from Year 10 pupils with the Personal Development Programme (PDP), displaying curiosity and critical thinking about the world around them. This year we have aligned our curriculum with the GCSE Citizenship specification. During our parents and carers talks we will be providing additional information about this opportunity for further accreditation.

We look forward to seeing you with your child at this event.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Laycock
Senior Assistant Principal
