Welcome to our community
Carr Manor Community School is exactly that, a community. That means our core values are about building and maintaining a community within the school.
We achieve that through several major initiatives. Our House system, for example, ensures that every pupil and staff member is part of a team. Our Coaching programme consists of circle-based sessions that ensures every child is part of the community.
As pupils progress through our school they benefit from continuity and personalised learning. This also means that the values of a community that is both diverse and harmonious are extended to all pupils throughout their learning.
We are one of only a few ‘all-through’ schools in Leeds. Being an all-through school means our pupils benefit from an easier transition between year groups, shared expertise across the school, tailored teaching, shared resources, flexibility in the curriculum and the strong relationships that make our community what it is.
We also build lasting relationships with families who have children with us from the beginning of their education up to when they move on to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Know Our Children Well
We believe that strong relationships lead to great learning. By to know children as individuals, we can better support them; our unique Coaching programme is the starting point for this.
Partners in Learning
We are a school that serves our community. Our pupils and staff work in close partnership with parents, volunteers, local charities, businesses, colleges, universities and other schools.
Character for Learning
Resilience, motivation and independence are essential characteristics to be successful in the modern world. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and engage our pupils.
Enjoy and Achieve
If children enjoy their learning they are more likely to succeed. We are deeply proud of our most recent Ofsted report and our strong results from the Early Years Foundation Stage right through to exam level.
