A group of Carr Manor pupils appeared at the Leeds Learning Alliance Inclusive Leadership and Practice Conference on Friday 31st January 2025.

The pupils had been involved in the LLA Youth Summit that morning, listening to the keynotes and working with pupils from other schools in the city. They worked on their own manifesto for the future with other young people from Wetherby High School, Co-Op Academy Leeds, and Co-Op Academy Priesthorpe. They built on these ideas and themes and came into the Q&A session in the Theatre ready to share their opinions and experiences.
Throughout the session they answered questions from former rugby league professional and LLA Ambassador Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE, covering a range of topics and issues such as character development in schools, social justice, and inclusion.
For many of the conference delegates, the Youth Panel was the highlight of the day. Colleagues were impressed by the children’s eloquence, passion, and insight. It was truly inspirational to hear their voices, and a real opportunity for the young people to speak to an audience of leaders and difference-makers in the city of Leeds and beyond.
Well done to the pupils for representing the school and the city with such confidence and expression.
