The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Abigail Marshall Katung, officially opened the Carr Manor Community Hub in Moortown on Friday 14th February, welcoming a group of guests from across the city.

Among those in attendance were colleagues, local families, friends, councillors, community workers, and dedicated volunteers, all gathering to celebrate the opening of this new facility that will serve the local community.
The event was a celebration of community, with pupils from Carr Manor Community School showcasing their talents through dance and music performances. A group of pupils who recently participated in the LLA Youth Summit took the opportunity to continue their work on their manifesto for the future, underscoring the role of youth in shaping the community’s progress.
The Carr Manor Community Hub is the newest addition to Carr Manor Community School’s expanding provision, marking a milestone for the school and its partnerships.
The building was constructed by ModCon Designs, one of the Leeds Learning Alliance’s key supporters. This exemplifies the power of collaborative effort and serves as a model for what can be achieved when organisations work together with shared vision and ambition.
This new hub will serve as a dynamic, multi-purpose space for the community, benefiting not just the pupils at Carr Manor but also the families and residents in the local area. The vision is for this space to be used for a wide range of activities – from educational programs and community events to social gatherings and support services for those in need. We want it to foster connection, learning, and growth.
