We are extremely proud of our Class of 2025 pupils for their achievements at GCSE Results Day.
There was a great atmosphere in school as pupils arrived to collect their results. Pupils were supporting and congratulating each other, with staff and children celebrating together another series of superb accomplishments.
70% of all entries were awarded at a pass (grade 4) or higher compared to 67.4% nationally. One in four of all grades were also awarded at the highest levels of grades 7-9 (the equivalent of A*/A) compared to 21.7% nationally.
Another cause for celebration is that 100% of pupils achieved a pass rate in dance, 92% in drama, 90% in sociology and 82% in sports studies. At Carr Manor, we champion the arts, so to see these results is testament to the dedication and ambition of these pupils.
“We are extremely proud of our Year 11 pupils and the results they have achieved this year. Watching the pupils opening their results knowing that the overwhelming majority of them have met and exceeded their targets is a fantastic feeling. Each child has their own story to tell, and we are proud to have supported every pupil on their journey through Carr Manor.
I am pleased that our pupils leave not only with high levels of accreditation but with personal qualities and character development that will help them put those qualifications to good use. We wish them every success in the future.” – Lucie Lakin, Principal
Pupils were very proud of their accomplishments too and were happy to share their results day experience with friends and staff members. Zainab, who achieved 9 in English Language and Literature, and 8 in maths and science, said “I’m proud of the resilience I’ve had. From the start of Year 11 to now, there’s been a big difference and change in my results so I’m proud of that. A big thank you to all my teachers for helping me through this!”

Our pupils are leaving us with not only high levels of accreditation, but also with personal qualities that will help them put those qualifications to good use. This is down to our fantastic coaching system and relational approach within school, which allows pupils to develop their character for learning skills, ensuring they leave us as well-rounded individuals with ambition, courage and commitment.
