We opened the Fairbank Farm in 2024, welcoming five Pygmy Goats into the Carr Manor Family.

Since then, the farm has become a special part of the Carr Manor grounds, now home to nine goats – all named by our pupils and House Council. Our pupils have opportunities to spend time with and interact with the goats, helping them to build confidence, responsibility and a connection with the world around them.

Supported by a team of volunteers, the goats are kept happy, well-fed and cared for in a clean, safe environment. Regular contact with nature can support pupils’ wellbeing, learning and personal development. Fairbank Farm offers a consistent and accessible way for pupils to experience these benefits throughout the school year.

Our volunteers play a vital role in looking after the goats and making Fairbank Farm a welcoming, enriching space for everyone, especially outside of the school day.

We have a fantastic group of volunteers including our families and staff who help to keep the goats healthy and happy all year round. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about volunteering with our goats.
