Year 1 Curriculum

Key Stage 1 (ages 5 – 6)

In Year 1 we have an exciting curriculum centered around our school values and teaching children good basic skills.

It is important to us that we work closely with our families to ensure that pupils can enjoy and achieve throughout their time at school.

Here you will find our ‘non-negotiables’; these are the expectations that each child will achieve by the end of Year 1.

In Year 1, children take part in the National Phonics Screening test. We use a child-friendly approach to prepare our children, and ensure good phonetic knowledge is taught alongside other important reading skills.
